This internship, geared towards Accounting majors, includes duties such as analyzing transactional data in areas where elevated risk factors have been isolated along with verifying procedural compliance to determine if a correlation exists between elevated losses and weak internal controls. Additional responsibilities under close supervision by an experienced auditor include providing support to the PLCB for Wine and Spirits Stores. Specific responsibilities include to assist in inventory counts, supervised cash counts, identification and analysis of losses, analysis of store compliance with PLCB policies and procedures, and to assist in supervised fraud analysis involving cash and inventory at the stores. The intern would have the opportunity to develop new and relevant audit objectives, audit program steps and methodologies, and prepare audit documentation. Local travel required.

This internship, geared towards Accounting majors, includes learning, under close supervision, the accounting close and financial reporting cycles by actively participating in the LCBS Division of BAFM. Duties may include, but may not be limited to,  assist in updating our process and reconciliation documentation; assist preparing account reconciliations; learn the PLCB monthly financial reporting process; assist with researching variances; assist in reviewing financial summaries provided in support of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report to gain perspective of impact on the Commonwealth's overall financial statements and consolidation process; routine interactions with members of our immediate unit , but also exposure to opportunities to internal customers.

This internship, geared toward students with an interest in state government, includes duties associated with policy analysis related to the regulation of financial services activities. Specific duties include identification of market trends, analysis of quantitative data and qualitative material, working with internal and external stakeholders to promote and implement policies to effectuate a well regualted financial services marketplace. Political Science, Government Administration, Economics, Legal studies, Public Policy, and American Politics majors are encouraged to apply.
